Sandy Braun’s Business and Personal Law classes took advantage of CHS’ model courtroom on Tuesday to practice participating in a civil trial.

In a scripted event, students played the judge, plaintiff and defendant’s attorneys, witnesses and other courtroom roles in a mock civil trial over potential negligence from texting while driving.

The students learned about courtroom proceedings through active participation.

The courtroom at CHS opened last school year.

“We utilize the courtroom in classes as well as for the Mock Trial Club,” Braun said.
