Benner's Farm Visits North Ridge
North Ridge students are learning about life on Long Island in the late 1700s on Thursday and Friday.
Sam Benner from Benner's Farm in East Setauket spoke with the students during an assembly about typical methods of getting food, water and shelter during that era.
Then, each class is getting an opportunity to visit the school's science room to experience six hands-on stations: making yarn from wool, making a spin top, writing with a quill using ink from beets, grinding corn, weaving using a loom, and old-fashioned games.
