Sawmill Fourth Grader Grows State's Largest Cabbage, Earns Scholarship
Sawmill fourth grader Jackson has grown the state’s largest cabbage!
Jackson, who grew the cabbage at Marion Carll Farm as part of the district’s agriculture pilot, entered a national competition. He ended up the largest cabbage submission from New York State and earned a $1,000 scholarship as a result.
Commack’s agriculture program has drawn rave reviews and been featured on New York City television stations as well as on News 12.
