CMS Hosts STEAM Night, 'Fire and Ice' Spectacular
Fourth- through eighth-graders operated robots, made lava lamps, designed jewelry with sand art, created paper rollercoasters, raced cars and learned about 3D printing during the annual STEAM Night hosted by CMS on Wednesday evening.
Middle school teachers were joined by some elementary school technology instructors as well as high school math and science honor society students in operating the science-themed booths.
The students and their younger siblings then were treated to Long Island Mad Science performing “Fire and Ice” in the middle school’s auditorium.
The show included an egg that originally was too big to fit into the mouth of a beaker ultimately being sucked in once a fire set inside the beaker burned the oxygen.
