Highly successful varsity coach Dave Moran visited sports management classes at CMS on Wednesday morning to share insights from managing teams.

Moran, who also teaches English and TV studio production at CHS, discussed topics including building players back up after a difficult moment, dealing with team conflict, and the importance of being responsible in the classroom and community.

Moran took questions from the students, including how to motivate student-athletes, managing playing-time expectations, and how he selects captains.

He noted that his communications skills have improved over the years, and his understanding of what situations are occurring off the field with the student-athlete that might be affecting his or her performance.
