CHS Pippin Stars Recognized by Roger Rees Foundation

Julia G. and Tosia S., who starred in last week’s CHS Masque and Wig performance of Pippin, have being selected to perform an in-person audition for the Roger Rees Foundation.
The nominee selection phase involves an in-person vocal audition in front of a panel of industry professionals and an educational workshop, which takes place on May 3 for Long Island participants.
These sessions will give Julia and Tosia the unique opportunity to participate in professionally run auditions to gain experience in a supportive educational setting.
The nominee selection phase will result in 50 students being selected as the official nominees for The Roger Rees Award for Outstanding Performer in a Musical.
Those 50 students will attend The Roger Rees Awards weekend and perform in The Roger Rees Awards showcase. During the RRA showcase, two “outstanding performer” winners will be selected and offered the opportunity to represent the Greater New York City Area at The Jimmy Awards in June.
“While we are very happy for the individual success, thank you to all for putting our students in a position to thrive,” director of art and music Mark Stuckey said. “These two, along with everyone involved in the musical, truly showed off their talents, skills and maturity.”
