College Photography, Ceramics Students Draw Inspiration at Nassau County Museum of Art

CHS digital photography, college digital photography and ceramics students had a chance to practice their craft and be inspired during a trip to the Nassau County Museum of Art in Rosyln Harbor on Tuesday.
The students initially toured the scenic grounds, which included several metal and stone sculptures. They then headed into the museum to tour the Art Deco exhibition.
The museum’s original “Deco at 100” exhibition coincides with the 100th anniversary of the 1925 Paris International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts, which publicly launched the movement.
The college ceramics students will use the inspiration to create their own pieces, while the digital photography students will manipulate photos they took on Tuesday in their lab.
The field trip was gifted by the PTA Arts in Education program.
