Commack Celebrates Its Diversity at Multicultural Festival

Commack celebrated its diversity on Saturday afternoon as students, families and other community members gathered at CMS for the annual Multicultural Festival.
Attendees received a "passport" upon arriving, which they got stamped at entertaining, scrumptious and educational booths set up throughout the gymnasium.
Among the booths: one offering international cookies from Korea, Italy and Spain, a Lego station where you could recreate any nation's flag, African drumming, and stations to create candy sushi and Chinese lanterns. You also could get your face painted or visit a temporary Henna tattoo station.
Superintendent Dr. Jordan Cox, who was among the attendees, found himself creating challenging origami designs at another station.
Dioramas featuring scenes from assorted countries, which were created by Burr third graders earlier this school year, also were on display.
