Board of Education president Steven Hartman received a fitting tribute as he presided over his final meeting on Thursday night.

Hartman, who has served a dozen years on the board, opted not to seek reelection this year.

Superintendent Dr. Jordan Cox, union officials and former board members praised Hartman's public service.

Hartman received proclamations from state senator Mario Mattera and assemblyman Keith Brown.

"I am filled with a deep sense of pride and reflection," Hartman said.
