Dr. Cox Presents Heroism Award to Staff and Paramedics Who Saved Life at CHS

Superintendent Dr. Jordan Cox honored a group of heroes at Thursday's Board of Education meeting.
Quick-acting staff at CHS and then paramedics helped save the life of a staff member who had gone into cardiac arrest.
"Their quick thinking, steady hands and unwavering courage made the difference between life and a tragedy," Cox said. "In a moment of crisis right here at Commack High School, they stepped forward. They did not do it for recognition, but because they cared deeply about the people around them.
"As the quote goes, heroes are not defined by the size of their actions, but by the heart behind them.
"It is my absolute honor to present the Heroism Award to this remarkable group of individuals who rose to the moment, demonstrated extraordinary presence and made an immeasurable impact.
"Their actions remind us of the power of compassion, connection and courage. Words are hard to describe what these standing around me did that day. They saved a life right here at Commack High School."
