CMS Art Students Create Monster Sculptures to Celebrate Movie's 25th Anniversary

In celebration of the 25th anniversary of Disney-Pixar Monsters, Inc., Dr. Melissa Young-Dorn's eighth-grade art students at CMS created imaginative papier-mâché sculptures inspired by the films colorful cast of characters.
Their work is on display in the hallway outside the auditorium for all at CMS to appreciate.
Just as Pixar brought Mike, Sulley and an entire monster world to life through creativity and innovation, the students explored the art of character development in creating their own unique monsters.
Guided by the IB Middle Years program theme of personal and cultural expression, the project encouraged students to consider how imagination, identity and storytelling could be expressed in visual form. Each sculpture reflects a blend of humor, personality and bold artistic choices.
