CHS' Cause Four Paws club welcomed veteran Mike Kilano and Paws of War to their club after school on Wednesday.

After a multiyear fundraising effort that included pizza sales, the group donated $1,000 to Paws of War.

They also heard from Kilano, an Iraq war veteran who served in the Marines, about the organization, which was founded in 2014.

A pair of service dogs also visited the club.

Paws of War originally was founded to provide service dogs to veterans affected by PTSD and traumatic brain injury. It since has expanded and now assists not only veterans, but first responders and Gold Star families.
