COMMACK SCHOOLS

CHS student-athlete leaders, along with state champion soccer coach Dave Moran and superintendent Dr. Jordan Cox, are attending a Section XI leadership conference on Friday in Farmingville.

Among the guest speakers is Long Island native Logan O'Hoppe, a catcher for the Los Angeles Angels, who personally met the Commack contingent.

Former Islander Steve Webb, a Navy Seal and others also spoke to the group, which included CHS juniors Ryan. C. and Natalie P. and sophomores Ashley A. and Christian L. as well as student-athletes from more than 60 other Suffolk County high schools.

Topics during the conference included mental health, communication, sportsmanship, school pride, time management and college recruiting.
