As the district-wide band night approaches on Jan. 27, Mike Abrescia's CMS select band welcomed a guest clinician after school on Thursday to help fine-tune their performance.

A native New Yorker, he holds a doctoral degree in instrumental conducting from Ball State University in Indiana as well as bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music education from the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College.
He taught high school band in New York for 10 years, and for two years was the associate director of bands at Ball State University. McRoy is also past president of the New York State Band Directors Association.
He also will be working with other musicians throughout the district ahead of the concert at the end of the month.
