Curtain Goes Up on Mean Girls with Senior Citizen Matinee

Commack High School continued its bond with the community's senior citizens during a wonderful afternoon on Thursday.
Local senior citizens attended a complimentary showing of the CHS Masque and Wig performance of Mean Girls in the high school's auditorium. The senior citizens then had the opportunity to meet the cast while enjoying a complimentary dinner in the cafeteria.
The CHS Student-Athlete Leadership Club volunteered to serve the multi-course meal.
Board of Education president Gus Hueber, superintendent Dr. Jordan Cox, district clerk Debbie Virga and other district and high school administrators attended the event and mingled with the attendees.
The Suffolk County Police Department attended the event and collected unwanted medication so it can be disposed of properly rather than ending up in the ground water. The officers also discussed how to be cognizant of scams targeting senior citizens.
Performances of Mean Girls are open to the public on Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m., with tickets available at the door.
