Burr Students Learn About ALS Awareness Ahead Of May Ride For Life Event

Students at Burr received a special visit this week from Christine Pendergast of ALS Ride For Life. Pendergast provided students with an opportunity to learn about ALS and the profound impact the disease has on individuals and their families. Pendergast shared the history of the foundation and its ongoing mission to raise research funds and spread awareness.
The educational visit served as a meaningful introduction to the realities of ALS while inspiring students to make a positive impact in their community. Students listened closely as they learned why finding a cure remains a critical goal for medical researchers and advocates alike. The discussion helped build empathy and a deeper understanding of the daily challenges faced by those living with the disease.
Following the presentation, students and staff will begin preparing for their own philanthropic efforts. Burr will host its official ALS Ride For Life event in May to coincide with national ALS Awareness Month.
