CHS CyberCats Esports Club Qualifies for Playoffs
The CHS CyberCats Esports Club achieved a historic milestone this season by qualifying for the playoffs in the ESSEF x PlayVS League. Students earned their postseason positions through dedicated competition in both Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. This accomplishment marks the first time that Commack esports students will participate in person for their competitive New York State matches.
The Super Smash Bros. Ultimate team will travel to Syracuse University to compete on the state stage. This roster includes captain Lucas F., Lucas D., Aneesh Kumar B., Caiden P., and Michael P. These students have spent the season refining their strategies and teamwork to reach this level of play.
The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe team also secured a playoff berth following a successful regular season. This team consists of captain Michael P., Caiden P., Andrew C., Ciro A., Hunter N., and Alberto M. Their collective performance has established the CyberCats as a formidable presence in the league this year and we congratulate them on a significant growth for the district esports program!
