CHS students recently participated in an engaging field trip to the federal courthouse in Central Islip as part of The Honorable Robert A. Katzmann Justice For All: Courts and the Community Initiative. During the visit, students had the unique opportunity to meet with federal Judge Bianco for an informative question-and-answer session, learned about courtroom procedures, and interacted with an attorney from the District Attorney’s office. They also took part in a mini mock trial activity, allowing them to experience the judicial process firsthand. This hands-on experience provided students with a deeper understanding of the role of the courts and offered an authentic and inspiring look into the legal system.
