Trio of CHS Students Earn Eagle Scout Rank

Commack High School students Vincent D., Jacob L. and Leo R. recently achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. Earning this honor requires years of dedication and the completion of an extensive community service project. These three young men demonstrated clear leadership and a strong commitment to helping others through their respective initiatives.
Vincent chose to give back to Christ the King Church for his project. He directed volunteers to completely renovate a religious education storage room by replacing shelving, painting walls and installing fresh flooring. Outside of scouting, he competes on multiple athletic teams and participates in the Future Engineers and Future Business Leaders of America clubs.
Jacob partnered with a nonprofit supporting victims of domestic violence. He guided volunteers in constructing a produce stand for a food pantry and building four ottoman style chairs for a sensory room. He maintains a busy schedule with various sports, church activities and plans to pursue a career in accounting.
Leo completed his service project by supporting the Smithtown Historical Society with structural improvements. He successfully coordinated the installation of a tent footing and new planters for the organization. Through this experience with Troop 3, he learned valuable lessons in leadership, teamwork and commitment that directly benefited the local community.
