Commack High School Welcomes Tunnel to Towers 9/11 Never Forget Mobile Exhibit

Commack welcomed the Tunnel to Towers 9/11 Never Forget Mobile Exhibit on Thursday afternoon at Commack High School as part of the district’s 25th Year of Remembrance.
First responders from the New York City Police Department, Nassau County Police Department, Suffolk County Police Department, and the Commack Fire Department led a police escort to guide the high-tech tractor-trailer onto the CHS campus.
A special welcome ceremony hosted on Thursday afternoon brought together community members, district leaders, and law enforcement officials to mark the arrival of the educational memorial. Speakers at the ceremony included Superintendent Dr. Jordan Cox, Senator Mario Mattera, Nassau County Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder, Suffolk County Deputy Commissioner Thomas Galati, District Attorney Ray Tierney, and Tunnel to Towers Ambassador Billy Puckett.
The 83-foot vehicle transforms into an interactive museum featuring authentic artifacts from September 11, original radio transmissions from that day, and guided tours led by FDNY firefighters and first responders who were eyewitnesses to history.
The exhibit will host student visits on Friday, October 16, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, before opening to the public from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM later that afternoon. Members of the community are also invited to visit during public hours on Saturday, October 17, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
