CMS Artists Celebrate Cow-Mack
The main hallway of CMS has a new exhibit — the Cow-Mack Parade of 2024!
The exhibit is a tribute to the world’s largest public art event that happened nearly 25 years ago in New York City.
In 2000, CowParade of New York graced the city's parks and plazas with more than 500 colorful cows — painted and decorated by the most talented artists in the state.
The CMS display showcases the incredible creativity of our students, who have been diligently working to design and create their own life-size cows as part of their International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme unit.
Each cow uniquely represents an IB profile character trait of their choice.
The Family and Consumer Sciences department also participated in this interdisciplinary lesson by incorporating a timeline of the history of consumerism, business and entrepreneurship that cows brought to New York.
The artwork will be displayed for a few weeks. Then the cows will be spread throughout the building.
